Hi all,
We are considering getting 5 licenses of FEMLAB 3.1 for our lab. Our primary area of design is antennas and microwave filters. I have a couple of questions.
1) Can I model Patch antennas ?
2) Can I model PBG structures ?
3) Does it provide a good library of ports ?
Do you recommend this software ? Kindly do reply as soon as possible as we have to make a decision. Thanks for your time.

If you are fine with the low-level PDE's, that might be what you were looking for. It does not compare well with HFSS as regards convenience of work, libraries etc. but is good if you deal with multiphysics applications. You can model things you listed, but again a profound understanding of EM PDE's is required.
If my primary area of work was pure EM applications and I had enough money, I would buy a software specially dedicated to EM simulation.
