Could you remind me why laminated steel??

Yes i have a question,maybe i knew the answer but right now i can't recall
why when building motor ROTORS or STATORS .. people use LAMINATED
steel .Why not cast iron ? Besides the cheaper manufacturing equipment issue
IS THERE ANY OTHER REASON ??

flatulent is correct. The reason we use laminated cores in transformers motores etc, is to reduce the effect of eddy currents
