ansys v9.0 multiphysics
Yesterday, I saw an announcement from Ansys's website regarding the new release of version 9.0. One of the new key feature which I found most attractive is; a port is now available to launch a plane wave for a scattering analysis of a periodic structure such as a Frequency Selective Surface (FSS). In the past I could study FSS by means of eigenmode analysis in Ansys 8.1. Now, this new feature will let me obtain much quicker the transmission and reflection response of FSS and High-impedance ground plane.
Although HFSS has a better user interface and widely used by finite element EM enthusiasts, Ansys has more freedom to control meshes and a more robust CAD core for imports and exports of variety of CAD formats.
Best regards

Oh yes! Version 9.0 has been released.
Hello
What is the difference between these 2 releases
Ansys v9.0 and Ansys workbench v9.0?
Workbench has a very nice windows interface like that of CST MWS and Ansoft HFSS. Suitable for new-comers. While the Ansys v9 is for those who are experienced and be able to do everything through scripts, like macros. The interface in this case is more UNIX-like. Hope this help!
I'm confused by all the different ANSYS versions.
Does ANSYS 9.0 Workbench do everything that ANSYS 9.0 does? Are both available with Multiphysics?
Are all the Multiphysics features accessible from Workbench? For example, I'd like to model piezoelectric transducers (material deformed by electric field). Can Workbench access all that coupled physics stuff?
