Using FDTD simulation softwares instead C or Matlab

My friends as you know there are FDTD simulation programs such as XFDTD or others that I don't know their names, while this is the case I have my thesis and I could not decide which program to use, should I write the codes by myself by using c or matlab else then this should i use directly softwaer packages, please could you help me .
