Quiet Expert is a tool that predicts where in a printed circuit board (PCB) design electro-
magnetic interference (EMI) is likely to create a problem. Quiet Expert is an expert system that
works by analyzing the design’s physical layout, part geometries, and electrical characteristics
for conditions known to generate EMI problems. In other words, Quiet Expert automates the
process of checking the PCB layout for design rule violations.
What Quiet Expert brings to your design process is efficiency. It is much faster and more
accurate than manually checking your layout to make sure that every part of it conforms to your
design rules. Quiet Expert also runs much faster and requires significantly less automation-
setup effort than simulation tools. A design that might take months to setup and days to run
through a simulation tool might take only a few days to setup and less than an hour to run
through Quiet Expert.
