Toothed log periodic antenna design

时间:04-03 整理:3721RD 点击:
Hi,

I am designing toothed log periodic that covers 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100MHz, 2600MHz, 2450MHz.
I will be designing on 160cmx160cm board.
What is typically the first step to design such antenna.
Also, how can i determine the number of tooths/radiators require?

Thanks.

I designed a dual-band LPA such as it formed two segments - one for 2.4-2.5 GHz and another 5.0 - 6.0 GHz with average gain of >8dBi. It was tested by Kent Britain ( http://www.wa5vjb.com/ ) and yhou can see pictures at www.alftel.com . It all depends on desirable gain, bands etc. etc. - there is no "straigth forward" approach for LPA implementation on PCB. You can start from looking at what Kent is offering (very affordable to try out ) as well as look at his article here http://www.wa5vjb.com/references/DesigningPCB-LPs.pdf . In my case I designed sections using this https://www.changpuak.ch/electronics/lpda.php and this https://hamwaves.com/lpda/en/index.html and then recalculated everything based on Kent's article. The challenge was to figure out correct boom width to match impedance. Took a multiple iteractions and measurements. In case you have an access to these RF sodftware packages you can always simulate it first. I do not own such a package so in my case everything was experimental (after calculations and adjustments). Also, there is no shortage of different articlers on this topic. In my case I needed it to be on FR4 1.0mm substrate.
