hi,
Is it possible to simulate (with some moderate system resources) a 30mhz-1300mhz log-periodic dipole(wires or metallic tubes to be used for dipoles) array antenna using IE3D with very good or atleast some reasonable accuracy.
the antenna may be a few meters in length and width.
NEC or feko(all MOM based) can probably do it , but i don't have all those softwares but only IE3D i have.So it will also be very helpful if somebody kindly suggest me a solution and some tutorial on log-periodic antenna simulation in IE3D.
eagerly waiting for ur replies
with regards
abhi

Hi, Abhi:
You can use ribbon strip to model the dipole. It may save much RAM. Also, there are other ways such as the GEMS-F solver and other solvers options to allow you to solver big structures. Regards.
