I'm going to order the NE555 chip from Texas Instruments (here is the NE555p date sheet ) to build a circuit, but they only have NE555P, NE555DR etc. Can I use the NE555xx instead of NE555 ? What is the difference between them?
NE555xxx is the orderable device part number of NE555, the suffix stands for some information like package type. For NE555DR for example, D means the SOIC package, R means the Reel. Actually, they all NE555 and they have the same electrical characteristics even though they have different suffix.
