In the dialog of local mesh properties, we can increase or decrease  the values of Dx, Dy and Dz to modify the mesh density. According to the document, the setting Extend x/y/z range is used to extending the maximum step width outside the bounding box of this structure element by the range given. But is it likely that the setting Extend x/y/z range impacts the mesh density?In which situation Extend x/y/z range is necessary to be set?

我不清楚你所说的“影响”是什么意思。既然是在网格参数设置属性里,调整每一个参数都会改变"Mesh Density",否则设置这个参数做什么呢?
Situation:需要把local mesh设置的参数"extend"到“局部结构”的"bounding box"之外的空间的时候。

yeah!we can increase  the values of Dx, Dy and Dz to define the maximum step width of the object!
1)Of course ,the setting Extend x/y/z range impacts the mesh density!
The setting Extend x/y/z range define the Neighbouring boundary space Dx, Dy and Dz of your object !
2)Especially  PEC ,the Neighbouring boundary space Dx, Dy and Dz is much important .You can set Extend x/y/z range in this situation!    

Thanks for your help. Euh but  ..for which type of  structure that we need to extend its local mesh maximum step width outside the bounding box of this structure space?

Thank you. And the larger value Extend x/y/z range by has , the more intense the corresponding mesh will become? Are they in proportion?

没有什么规定的形状,如果金属边缘以外的部份是“重要区域”,那就需要,比如耦合传输线之间的空间。

The dimension of Dx/Dy/Dz or Extending x/y/z range is proportional to the density mesh?

1)YES !  For example ,if I set extend x range 20    the result is just in the X direction of  the  EXtend vaule of 20
2)You should know the meaning of Extend x/y/z range
